Abstract

The paper proposes a quantitative analysis through Geographic Information Systems, the main physico-geographical parameters involved in the  of geographical areas with different degrees of exposure to maximum runoff caused by damage of water supply network. The study will therefore in the rural area of Baia Mare Depression, morphometry (in terms of elevation, slope, slope length, aspect, slope profile, wettness index etc..), soil characteristics (focusing on the hydro-pedological analysis), land cover. This GIS database will be used to evaluate the infiltration capacity, moisture conditions and runoff coefficients from classical methods (API - Antecedent Precipitation Index, CN - Curve Number Index, etc.), but implemented in geoinformatic environment. Of course, a decisive role in evaluation of the antecedent moisture conditions ante-damage it has the evolution of rainfall in space and time, however, the study area is not very extended, we turn our attention particularly to the spatial analysis of morphometric parameters, hydro-pedological and land-use patterns. Identify areas likely to produce local flooding (flooding households, parcels cultivated agriculture, roads, etc..) could be helpful later sections of pipe location that generate high risk flood, but also assessing the hydrological impact of these damages. The study results are digital maps in raster format on antecedent precipitation index, CN index, soil water reserve (rainwater), water saturation coefficient (rainwater) of soil, susceptibility to flooding.

Keywords: quantitative analysis, flooding, damages of water supply network, GIS, rural zone, Baia Mare Depression
