THE SPACE-TIME VARIABILITY OF THE AVERAGE WATER DRAINAGE IN THE UPPER HYDROGRAPHICAL BASIN OF THE ARGES RIVER DOWNSTREAM FROM THE VIDRARU DAM Emanuel MAILAT Abstract The upper hydrographical basin of the Arges river downstream from the Vidraru dam, measuring 2411 km², has important water resources, its average flow rate being of 12.7 m³/s. Following a hydrographical analysis undergone on average flow rates registered between 1970- 2009 at the hydrometrical stations set on the Valsan, Doamnei and Targului rivers, which have the largest flow rate in the studied area, we notice a tendency to drop of the annual and monthly average flow rates emphasized by the charts of linear tendencies of the flow rates. The maximum tendency to drop of the average flow rates is at the hydrometrical station Voinesti – 27% of the multiannual average flow rate, followed by the Darmanesti hydrometrical station (-11%) and by the Malureni hydrometrical station (- 7%).The flow regime is prevailingly average for 77% of the analysis period and the deficient and excessive ones are represented by values between 10% and 13%.
